Cantina Nals Margreid covers over 150 hectares distributed over the district. The best grapes are found above all near Nalles, with vineyards that rise from the valley floor to the 700 metres of Sirmian. Near Magrè, meanwhile, we find the Bordeaux and white varieties, which need warmer temperatures, while in the Bolzano basin space is laid over to Lagrein and Schiava. In the cellar, it is Harald Schraffl who has the task of bringing out the best from these raw materials, in a range of characterful, elegant wines while Gottfried Pollinger runs the winery. It was once again the Pinot Bianco Sirmian that charmed our tasting panel, thanks to a graceful nose of crisp white-fleshed fruit against a backdrop of blossom and vegetal nuances. The full, caressing palate shows all the warmth of the growing year. We also loved the Passito Baronesse, with its intense aromas of spice, liquorice and dried flowers, over a harmonious, graceful palate.
