BARONESSE Passito Baron Salvadori 2016
"The 2016 Alto Adige Baron Salvadori Baronesse Passito is a syrupy and sticky dessert wine with fragrant layers of candied orange peel, almond marzipan, sun-dried apricot and chestnut honey. The wine is aged in tonneaux for 12 months, but those characteristic notes of cinnamon and spice appear as distant afterthoughts and are evenly folded into the thick texture of the wine. This is a seriously delicious wine that is difficult to score because it stands so far apart in a group of peers. The intensity here is truly stratospheric."

CHARDONNAY Riserva Baron Salvadori 2015
"This is a full-bodied expression of Chardonnay with an off-gold color and opulent notes of vanilla, toasted almond and Irish butter. The 2015 Alto Adige Chardonnay Riserva Baron Salvadori is even richer and more aromatic in this sunny vintage. Like other wines from 2015, the mouthfeel shows more density and concentration than it does length per se. No bother, this is a lovely oak-aged Chardonnay to pair with lobster or crab cakes."

MANTELE Sauvignon 2016
"This is a terrific expression of Sauvignon Blanc that is fragrant and bright, but never too pungent or sharp. The 2016 Alto Adige Sauvignon Mantele shows variety-driven tones of tropical fruit, lemon, thyme and passion fruit. Those aromas are indeed displayed with intensity; however, they never reach that high pitch you get with, say, a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. The effect here is slightly more contained and elegant. You do get power as well with 14.4% alcohol. The finish is dry and mineral-driven."

SIRMIAN Pinot Bianco 2016
"This is a steady and refreshing white wine that delivers a classic interpretation of the variety. The 2016 Alto Adige Pinot Bianco Sirmian shows a mild bouquet with stone fruit and honeydew melon. The wine plays a more important role in terms of mouthfeel, with medium texture and subtle creaminess that wraps smoothly over the palate. Drying mineral notes give the wine sharp definition and linearity. This white wine ages in large oak casks for eight months."

PUNGGL Pinot Grigio 2016
"Some of the fruit for this wine comes from 80-year-old vines, and you most assuredly feel that extra density and concentration. The 2016 Alto Adige Pinot Grigio Punggl offers loads of fragrant intensity with fresh peach, pear and honeydew melon. This Pinot Grigio shows a softer side with creamy stone fruit instead of sharp citrus. This is an excellent drinking choice for a hot summer afternoon."

PENON Pinot Bianco 2017
"The 2017 Alto Adige Pinot Bianco Penon is a vibrant and refreshing expression of the grape with steely lines and icy cool delineation. The bouquet presents tones of stone fruit, preserved lemon and subtle accents of garden herb, lemon thyme and basil. Drink this pretty wine within the next few years while that primary fruit is still firm and bright."
