The powerful fruity bouquet, elegant structure, freshness and fine-grained tannins characterize this local hero. It accompanies flavorful South Tyrolean dishes, game, rabbit and braised meats brilliantly.

South Tyrol’s oldest regional red grape variety, the Vernatsch or Schiava, finds its traditional location in St. Magdalena near Bozen (Bolzano). The steep slopes of this vineyard with its porphyry gravel soils are home to the various sub-varieties of the Vernatsch.
