This elegant sub-variety of Vernatsch features a playful nose with delicate fruit aromas and notes of bitter almond, red berries and violets in the bouquet. On the palate, it is powerful, elegant, fresh and fruity with a long, convincing finish. You can serve our Grauvernatsch chilled, as an aperitif, or with starters, with meat dishes or even pizza.

South Tyrol’s oldest regional red grape variety, the Vernatsch or Schiava, finds its traditional location in St. Magdalena near Bozen (Bolzano). The steep slopes of this vineyard with its porphyry gravel soils are home to the various sub-varieties of the Vernatsch.
